This policy explains what information The Household Ledger ("the app") collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. This app is operated by [your name or business name] ("we", "us").
Your actual household inventory — items, photos, paint colors, notes — is stored locally in your browser (via localStorage), not on our servers. We do not have access to it, cannot see it, and cannot recover it if you clear your browser data. Use the app's built-in "Backup (export)" feature to keep your own copy.
When you use these features, the relevant photo or search query is sent to Anthropic, a third-party AI provider, for processing. Anthropic's own privacy practices govern that processing; we do not control or store what Anthropic does with that data beyond receiving the result. Price and reference-photo lookups involve web searches performed on your behalf.
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. It contains a random session token, not your password or personal data directly. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
We do not sell your information to anyone.
We keep your account and billing records for as long as your account is active, and as needed for legitimate billing/tax records after cancellation. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact [your contact email].
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
